The team were called out to Dovedale at lunchtime today. A lady in her 60s had fallen injuring her leg. The Ambulance Service and Midlands Air Ambulance Charity were also in attendance. The river Dove was particularly high, covering the stepping stones, so the lady was carried by stretcher to Lin Dale and then to Thorpe Pasture. She was transported by road ambulance to the Royal Derby Hospital for treatment, where it was confirmed she had sustained three fractures to her lower limb.

  • I am that Lady!! I can't thank you enough for all your kindness and care. What terrific teamwork. Thank you to air ambulance team which were so amazing at the scene, mountain rescue for getting me out of valley and up to helicopter and then ambulance which for various reasons eventually took myself and one of the mountain rescue team to hospital. A big thank you also to four friends who spent several hours hanging around whilst Iwas treated at the scene after what turned out to be only a ten minute walk. Finally to 2 very kind passers by that assisted at the scene. Great to be British.
