Derby Mountain Rescue Team were called on Tuesday afternoon (July 25th) by Derbyshire Poice to join the search for a 73 year old woman, who had been missing for several days..

Doris Goller, from Breaston, had last been seen at her home by family on Sunday and police had launched an extensive search of the surrounding area, including use of a police helicopter.

By Tuesday afternoon, police had become increasingly concerned for the woman’s safety and called in mountain rescue volunteers to search the surrounding countryside.

She was found by mountain rescuers near Risley at around 8pm on Tuesday evening.  She was treated on scene by team medics and taken to hospital for a check-up in a mountain rescue ambulance.

Twenty five volunteers from the team joined in the search, which was also supported by Police search volunteers and members of the neighbourhood watch.

A team spokesman said: “This was an excellent result showing a great sense of collaboration between the team, the police and the local community, who were a great help in the search.”
