2017_13 Thorpe Cloud

The team were called just after 1pm on Saturday 15th April by West Midlands Ambulance service after a lady fell whilst descending Thorpe Cloud, injuring her leg. The 38 year-old lady from Nottingham had been walking with her family when she slipped and sustained a suspected fracture to her lower leg. Two of our Volunteers were first on scene locating the casualty on the side of Thorpe Cloud. We were shortly joined by an Alstonfield First Responder, WMAS land crew, then #Helimed09 who administered pain relief. The lady was placed on our Mountain Rescue stretcher and was lowered to the base of Thorpe Cloud using a rope belay. She was transferred to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Helimed09 (G-EMAA) and flown to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment.
