2016_40 Hartington

The team were called late on the evning of 22 October 2016 to Hartington. One of a group returning across countryside from an evening out had injured himself after falling whilst crossing a stile and got into further difficulty descending a steep slope. Members of the group raised the alarm at a nearby farm, who called the emergency services. An East Midlands Ambulance Service ambulance crew, first responder and paramedic also attended.

A stretcher and rope system were set up but the casualty was able to be escorted off the hill with assistance. He was taken to hospital for further assessment, whilst team members took the rest of the group back to where they had been staying. The team returned to base at around 01:30.
