Derby Mountain Rescue Team were called at around 8pm on Monday 13th July to assist West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) with a 17 year old male from Birmingham who had slipped and fallen on steep ground near Coldeaton. The man, who had been out walking with a group, had crossed the River Dove at the stepping-stones, and fallen while climbing the side of Gipsy Bank, tumbling a significant distance back down the hill. He was treated for a suspected fractured ankle by WMAS. Due to the nature of the terrain the man was carried to the team Land Rover and transported back to the closest farm track where the WMAS ambulance was located. He was taken to hospital for further treatment
