The team were called out this evening to a 43 yo male runner who had fallen whilst descending Thorpe Cloud injuring his ankle. A family who had been out for a walk stopped to help the man and called for an ambulance. The man was treated for a suspected fractured ankle by an EMAS land crew, our specialist Vacuum Splint was placed around his leg and he was lowered, on the team stretcher, off Thorpe Cloud using a man-belay protected lower. He was then carried across the river dove and transported by the EMAS crew to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment

  • A massive thank you to the Derbyshire mountain rescue team for spending there Sunday retrieving my brother from Thorpe Cloud. Fingers crossed his leg isn't broken, but back to the hospital today to find out!

    Thanks all involved
